Rick Springfield singing "Jessie's Girl" didn't just thrill young teenage girls with boyfriend of same name....he thrilled a lot of older housewives and mothers at the same time. .I'm a young-at-heart widow, retired, and still enjoying life, but I can still remember stopping whatever I was doing whenever I heard that song or caught a glimpse of Rick on TV. My sweet, darling husband, whom I loved dearly, never knew the fantasies I'd spin in my mind for days about Rick Springfield seeing me at one of his concerts and sweeping me away for a mad lfling..

Hmmm, I've been a widow for 6 years...think Rick is still touring??? I'm guessing he still looks mighty fine in those tight black pants..

Thanks for jogging a happy memory.

Unfortunately,Rick didn't do his research when he chose the spelling of this person "Jessie"....This is actually the female spelling of the name."Jesse" is the proper spelling of a dude. This leads me to believe that "Jessie" was possibly in a girl/girl relationship. My conclusion is that this song is even more awesome than Mr. Springfield intended it to be.

Hey Holly, thanks for commenting! I'm a bit computer illiterate (and not entirely sure I understand the question), but I think you can click the "Entries RSS" link on the bottom left (under META). Then click subscribe, and it should update you every time I post a new blog. You can also click the "Dig It" "Funny" etc tabs for a quick reaction. Does that answer your question?

This is a funny way to think about this song. How do I follow this blog to comment (rate) entries?
