Wonderful Memory

jona

Every now and again, we are reminded of wonderful moments in our lives.

Above is a picture of me and a young boy named Jona playing guitar together on an island in Indonesia. I was the speaker for his school’s spring retreat. He was a 14-year-old kid who liked Jesus and liked to laugh and liked to play guitar.

A beautiful moment, and a beautiful picture.

And I’m touched that, three years later, this boy— now, young man— felt compelled to put this picture on his facebook page… and then tag me in it.

Grateful,
Austin

Austin, I want to respond to your “writing” piece several months back. I am just now reading your old blogs and love them. They are “real’ and they are “you”! Writing is difficult as we tend to compare ourselves to others and feel as though we need to intersperse “fluffy” words to make our piece eloquent and perfect. Jesus was not at all eloquent. He was “real”, and that is you. Keep writing the way you do. Go with the flow! You capture the attention of Christians and those just “getting their feet wet”…I look forward to reading more!
